The Process

step one :: ordering a design

ordering a monogram or logo design: review the information listed on either the modern or classic pages. take note of the design number. if you would like color added to your design, please read all details listed on the colors page. place your order by filling out the form on the order page.

ordering a print-ready design: review the information listed on the page for the print-ready design you are ordering. please read all details listed on the colors page. place your order by filling out the form on the order page.

order confirmation: you will receive an email in approximately 24 hours confirming that your order was received. it will include the total price of the project, along with a time frame for when you will receive the initial design.

step two :: payment

the project total must be paid before design work begins. an invoice from paypal will be sent to your email address. the email will direct you to the paypal website where payment can be made with a credit card. if an echeck is sent through paypal, the project will be delayed until the echeck clears.

step three :: design process

providing content for your design: before design work begins, all text must be finalized as best as possible. revisions to text can be made during the design rounds, however, finalized text will expedite the project, and prevent unnecessary design rounds.

reviewing initial design: you will receive a link to access a personal web page containing your initial design. you must thoroughly review the design, including all wording. you should also perform a test print, especially if you are planning on printing your design from home.

request for revisions: revisions may be requested at this time. if you are not satisfied with the initial design, please tell me! you may request to see revisions to the text, colors, and typefaces. three design rounds are included in the price of the project. this means that you can send a request for revisions, i will then modify the design and post the revised design for your review. this is counted as a design round. most projects take two or three design rounds before completion. additional charges may be billed to you if revisions are requested after the third design round.

approval: once you are satisfied with the design, please perform a final test print. check spelling, grammar, as well as typeface and color choices. after a design has been approved, edits can no longer be made to the design. additional charges will be billed to you if revisions are requested.

step four :: final stage

finalized design: once a design has been approved, i will finalize the design and post to your personal web page. if you ordered a print-ready design, the final file will be provided in a pdf file format. if you ordered a monogram or logo design, the final design will be provided in grayscale and color; the final files will be provided in a pdf and jpg. pdf is provided in cmyk. jpg provided in cmyk and rgb, in the dimension of 5 x 5 inches, 150 ppi. additional file formats, dimensions and resolutions available upon request.

printing your design: your design can be printed at a professional print shop or at home. most designs will be suitable for home printing, however, there are a few exceptions: for wedding invitations, i strongly recommend that you work with a professional print shop that provides offset printing. offset printing will provide beautiful color and a crisp, clean print. double-sided designs (also known as duplexed designs) must be printed at a professional print shop. most home printers will not properly align both sides, resulting in an uneven design once trimmed.
